Volunteering
At the PROP Shop
There are a number of tasks to complete at the PROP Shop every day, and many volunteers make it all happen! We ask that volunteers are at least 14-years-old to volunteer on-site. Please email volunteer@propshopep.org or call Alicia at 952-224-0362 for more information and to discuss scheduling availability.
If you can’t volunteer on-site but still want to help, check out our list of ideas below or email volunteer@propshopep.org with your ideas.
Other Ways of Volunteering
Build a Kitchen Kit: Some families who come to the PROP Shop are starting over and need kitchen essentials to get started.
Follow the steps outlined in this video and pamplet: Kitchen Kits Pamphlet.
Bakers: Our events almost always involve homemade treats, and we need your help to provide them. If you like to bake, sign up by emailing community@propshopep.org, and we’ll request your help via email as needed. Then let us know what, if anything, you would like to make.
Knitters: Our clients always need dish cloths, pot holders, winter hats, and mittens.
Secret Shoppers: Sign up to receive periodic emails listing specific items needed by local families. If there is an item you are willing to purchase, just email back and purchase the item within a week or so. You can opt out any time. Sign up by contacting community@propshopep.org.
LARK Groups: Ladies Acts of Random Kindness (LARK) groups adopt one month a year. When it’s your group’s month, we inform you of a need (a double stroller, a vacuum cleaner, etc.). If your group is interested, you ask for a small donation from everyone the next time you meet and purchase the needed item for the PROP Shop.
Donation Drive: Organize a drive for a particular item the PROP Shop is in need of. Past groups have collected utensils, coats, kitchenware, etc. Send an email to info@propshopep.org or call 952-224-7051 to discuss details.
Fundraisers: Host or plan a fundraiser. You let us know what you have in mind, and we’ll help you every step of the way.
Community Group Liaison: Arrange for a PROP Shop speaker at your next gathering or set up a tour of the PROP Shop for your group.
Please email community@propshopep.org for more information about any of these programs.
